Ammobium alatum grandiflorum, commonly known as Winged Everlasting, is an easy to grow, airy, cutting garden favorite that produces vertical, clear green sprigs topped with abundant clusters of delicate .5" to .75" inch, silver-white papery blooms. Popularly used both fresh as a cut flower and as a dried everlasting type by floral creatives, this delicate beauty has a vintage appearance and adds a wildflower feel to any arrangement. Grown as a tender perennial in Zones 9-10, in colder climates, Winged Everlasting is considered an annual. Plants grow to 30" inches. The flowers can be harvested in various stages of development from small, tight, white buds to open faced, mature blooms that reveal a bright yellow center. Discovered in 1883, this charming heirloom flower has excellent vase life and you will notice the plants buzzing with bees all summer in the garden.
