Eucalyptus gunnii produces tidy, oval shaped, silver-green leaves on stems with a mass of small branches. This variety is grown primarily for the cut flower industry for filler greens, however this is also the same variety that will grow into a massive 90' to 100 ' foot tall tree if left to prosper. Cut flower growers and home gardeners grow it as more of a shrub type plant. Typically this variety is trimmed back severely each year to provide cutting greens for arrangements with the preferred juvenile foliage. You can cut on the shrubs deeply throughout the season once the roots are established and a "trunk" has appeared at the base of the tree. Known to be hardy to zone 6 when protected over winter, regrowth will sprout on as soon as the warmer air of spring starts to unfold for the season. Packet: 20 seeds.
