Imperial Star Artichoke, PVP is the earliest production crop available in our artichoke offerings. Prolific 2' to 4' foot plants produce true green globes averaging 3" to 4" inches in diameter and 1 to 2 primary buds with 5 to 7 secondary bud globes per plant in their first year flowering. Ideally grown as an annual in colder climates, Imperial Star grows 48" inches wide and prefers warmer, full sun locations with good drainage for optimum production and will typically perennialize in zones 7 and above.
