Monstrueux de Viroflay Spinach is a charming French heirloom variety dating back to 1866 that produces huge, nutrient dense leaves that remain tender, no matter how big they grow and are excellent for cooking because of their delicious traditional flavor. This variety has notably lower levels of oxalic acid than other varieties. Plant for a fall crop, over winter and enjoy the surprise of an early spring yield as soon as temperatures warm. Rapid growing plants produce upright leaves which make for easy harvesting. An excellent crop for fresh market growers who want to increase their diversity and for growers who appreciate the longevity and flavor of open pollinated heirloom varieties. 50 days. Packet: 500 seeds.
