Details
Rudbeckia occidentalis Green Wizard is an exceptional ornamental plant that produces unique, deep brown-black, elongated, dome-shaped cones that are surrounded by involucral bracts that serve as a "skirt" at the base of each cone. A favorite of floral creatives for their textural and visually interesting appearance, plants grow to 48" inches and produce an abundance of architectural cones on sturdy stems, ideal for arrangements and used fresh or dried. This cut-and-come-again variety pumps out the stems in abundance from mid-summer through the first frost of fall. An easy keeper, Green Wizard thrives in a full sun location and has excellent resistance to disease and deer. The cones will not become food for the birds until they are past their prime for cut flower picking. Leave spent cones standing in fall to allow this flowering perennial to self sow and naturalize. One of our Top 50 Favorite Cut Flower Varieties, we are simply wild for Green Wizard! Packet: 50 seeds.
