Russell Lupine My Castle Red is celebrated as a 1937 RHS Award of Garden Merit winner for good reason. Captivating, stately 36" inch spires are fully encircled by hundreds of individual pea-sized florets that open from the bottom to the top revealing the sultry, solid colored saturated red spikes. This long loved, first year flowering perennial is a cutting garden favorite. Palmate foliage from which the glorious spires emerge makes this variety a welcome addition to any garden bed where vertical interest is desired. Your garden will be a flutter of activity with hummingbirds, butterflies, bees and beneficial insects stopping to feast. Plants are deer and rabbit resistant. Hardy to zone 4.
*Pre-treated for fast uniform germination, no need to scarify. Pre-soak several hours to aid in successful germination. In warm climates, grow this variety as an annual. Packet: 50 seeds.
