Details

Salvia farinacea Fairy Queen, commonly known as Mealy Cup Sage, features delicate looking, long-blooming, bi-color, elongated stately flower clusters that effortlessly hover atop sturdy, wiry stems that grow 18" to 20" inches tall. The bi-color flowers are grouped in an ascending pattern contrasting a mix of violet-blue and white blooms. This annual sage is an easy to grow, highly adaptable and long blooming variety that compliments containers, border and bedding plantings perfectly. This Fleuroselect Gold Medal Award Winner is notably drought tolerant once roots are established. Salvia Fairy Queen is heat, humidity, pest and disease resistant making this bedding variety popular for landscape plantings. Expect a fluttering party of welcome pollinators to flock to Fairy Queen from early summer all the way through until the first frost. A tender perennial in zones 8-10 and grown as an annual in cooler zones. The color rich blooms make excellent cut flowers used fresh or dried. As an everlasting flower the color is stable and does not fade making this a rich textural addition to dried arrangements. Packet: 50 seeds.
