Crisphead Lettuce

Crisphead Lettuce, also known as Iceberg lettuce, is a popular slightly crunchy variety with a mild flavor that is popularly used to add texture to salad mixes and sandwiches. Crisphead lettuce seeds produce a tightly formed "ball" shaped head of over overlapping leaves resembling a cabbage head. Mature Crisphead lettuce heads are upright and typically keep up off the ground because they do not have relaxed "wrapper leaves" like other lettuce varieties.
